"Apricus Locanda" – excellent guest house in Apricale, Italy (near the western side of the Ligurian coast)
If you ever have the chance to visit this part of Italy and would like an idyllic place to stay then you must try this 'locanda' – it's run by a charming young couple (Dutch/Albanian), is quite exquisite internally, has some beautiful views from the terrace and balconies, and is SO quiet and peaceful. It has just five rooms so is never full of lots of people. In autumn (2005) they're installing a pool too, so you'll be able to have a dip if the going gets hot! I recently returned from 10 days in Mauritius, a wonderful island! I can highly recommend both hotels we stayed in. The first is a large 3* hotel and more geared to those looking for a livelier time; it's based on Grand Baie at the top of the island (suitable for gentle watersports), is great for exploring the capital, Port Louis, and the north/north-western side. It is called Le Mauricia – click on xxx for more details. Then the second one we stayed in was fabulous; much quieter, much smaller, a boutique-style 4* hotel based on the East coast, with a gorgeous Moroccan theme…absolutely beautiful!
